PROTECT OUR

Environment

The Problem.

District 9 has dealt with environmental challenges for too long.

From water quality concerns to illegal dumping and air pollution, these issues have been allowed to persist without long-term solutions. Too often, they’re addressed only after they become impossible to ignore.

Residents shouldn’t have to question the safety of the environment around them.

Why It Matters?

This is about everyday life and long-term health.

Environmental issues affect:

• The water we live near

• The air we breathe

• The future of our community

When we fail to invest now, the cost only grows — for residents, for infrastructure, and for the next generation.

The Solution =

1. District 9 Solar Investment Act

Develop a local solar initiative to power public infrastructure, reduce long-term energy costs, and bring modern energy solutions to our district.

2. Clean Energy Standards for Industrial Development

Require new large-scale industrial developments to include on-site solar and meet modern energy benchmarks to reduce environmental impact.

3. Waterway Restoration & Floating Wetlands Program

Expand the use of floating wetlands and natural filtration systems to improve water quality in Back River and surrounding waterways.

4. Environmental Accountability & Transparency Initiative

Increase transparency around environmental issues, track progress, and hold agencies accountable for long-term solutions — not short-term fixes.

closing -

Clean water and clean air aren’t optional.

District 9 deserves both — and a plan to protect them for the long term.
